Lexine Gomez - Bio

Lexine Gomez serves as a Senior Education Ombuds with the Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO), bringing more than three decades of experience in Washington State’s higher education system. Before joining OEO, she spent over 30 years as an educator, counselor, and administrator, championing student success and institutional equity.

Throughout her career, Lexine has been deeply committed to closing opportunity gaps and fostering equitable outcomes for youth and families. Her work centers on elevating learners who have been historically underserved and underrepresented, ensuring they have the support and advocacy needed to thrive.

Outside of her professional life, Lexine is an enthusiastic reader, traveler, and devoted friend and family member. She’s also an avid golfer and a proud fan of the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks, and—forever in her heart—the Sonics.
